The SHRM conference was attended by 11,000 HR professionals, including 850 international attendees.

His talk featured a comprehensive solution to assess, contain, and eradicate one of the biggest challenges facing global HR practitioners: overseeing the complex integration of international mergers and acquisitions (M&A).
"Failure to manage the ‘mental merger’ by holistically tackling the integration of corporate and national cultures leads many international consolidations to miss financial targets," said Brahy. He described emotional disconnects known as "cultural viruses" that often suffocate business performance by magnifying harsh people-management realities. Brahy recommended implementing an aggressive series of interventions to eradicate cultural viruses, thereby allowing businesses to cure the root causes of integration letdowns and ensure business success.
