Our Diverse Workforce
Our diverse and inclusive environment helps us create—and maintain—our unique culture, and retain the very best employees who are passionate about providing exceptional service to our customers. We seek out, and value, employees from all walks of life—and with varying experience, backgrounds and skills—to enrich our Cartus community.
The Alliance for Workplace Excellence (AWE) has honored Cartus with several awards recognizing excellence in the workplace. Cartus was the only relocation company to be named, and one of just 10 companies to be recognized, in all four categories.
- Workplace Excellence Seal of Approval
- Health & Wellness Seal of Approval
- EcoLeadership Award
- Diversity Champion Award
As one of only a dozen winners in The Diversity Champion Award category, Cartus showed a powerful commitment to diversity recognition and celebration through the efforts of our Diversity and Inclusion Council, including our Veterans’ Walls of Honor, Holocaust Day of Remembrance, “What Would You Do” Lunch & Learn, Gay Pride Month activities, International Food Day Festival, and others too numerous to list.
Joining forces with our veterans
Cartus prides itself on our commitment to veterans, and has the highest regard and respect for the men and women of our armed forces and the sacrifices they make to serve our country.
Service members possess some of the key qualities that are critical to our success, and also transition seamlessly into the Cartus culture. These include; leadership, integrity, unique perspectives, diverse skillsets, commitment to excellence, and dedication to teamwork.
Our Veteran’s Council, established in 2005, consists of a team of employees who meet on a monthly basis. These veteran council members, in conjunction with our Diversity Committee, are actively involved in on-site veteran-related activities such as the Save-a-Suit drive, Memorial Day, Veteran’s Day, POW/MIA Observance Day, and fundraising events. They also serve as mentors to our new-hire veterans.
Cartus recognizes and values our veterans and the contributions they bring, which makes us a perfect choice for your civilian career.
Offering real-world experience to college interns
Education doesn’t end at school. Our intern program enables and encourages college students to continue learning, and transition from student life to real-world experience. Your contributions make an immediate impact, and you’ll be working side-by-side with the best and brightest in the industry. Your intern experience can also translate into full-time work after you graduate. Hit the ground running and find your path to a successful future.
Did you know?
- Cartus has hired 11.3% of our interns on a full-time basis since 2003
- Many of our interns have been promoted into leadership roles
- Our intern program includes learning seminars, leadership experience, and training that can be applied to, and useful in, many other corporate positions
You’ve been in the workforce most of your life. You have experience. Cartus values that experience. Candidates that have training in real estate, global relocation, or other corporate fields are a perfect fit for our Cartus community. Contact us to see how your prior work experience can transition you into a new career at Cartus.
Approximately half of our workforce consists of working parents. Cartus understands the importance of family and maintaining proper work/life balance, so we offer benefits such as; maternity and paternity leave, free flu shots, childcare referral service, flexible hours, and educational scholarships, to name a few. There are also many fun “family-friendly” events Cartus hosts at our corporate and regional locations.
People with disabilities
We pride ourselves on our outreach efforts and hiring candidates with disabilities. We work closely with many local and federal agencies. One key partnership we have is with the Bureau of Rehabilitation Services. We participate in their internship program, their yearly meetings, and attend career fairs that focus on hiring applicants with disabilities. Every October, Cartus celebrates National Disability Awareness month with educational seminars on various topics relating to people with disabilities.
