While companies are busy planning their corporate relocation programs, 80 balloons from 20 countries took to the skies over the last week for the world famous annual “Balloon Week” in the Alpine village of Château-d’Oex in the canton of Vaud. In both cases, careful planning including assessment of the challenges and checking of instrumentation was required.
The Challenges of Relocation in Switzerland
To help companies pilot their relocation programs, Cartus is pleased to share the results of a recent relocation poll we conducted in Switzerland. When HR managers were asked whether they expected their relocation programs to grow in 2015, 84 percent of respondents said they did.
The biggest challenges for relocation programs into Switzerland included housing (24%), cost control (20%), compliance (15%), immigration/visa (15%), and intercultural/language issues (13%). But how can HR/relocation managers ensure that their programs do not veer off course?

• Compliance: How compliant is your relocation program?
• Immigration/Visa: What can you do to ensure successful and timely applications?
• Intercultural/Language: How suitable is the assignee (and partner/family) to life in Switzerland?
